Twitterive; Draft One
I was just minding my own business when my phone vibrated. I looked down at the screen, and BAM! JASON SILVA RETWEETED ME! We had just watched one of his lectures for homework for WRT, and now the same guy had read something that I had written! Even if it was just a tweet.
Before starting homework for the day, the boys were interested in watching some TV to wake themselves up a bit. The TV flipped on, and Jerry Springer's voice can be heard. "Lesbian Kiss-Offs" was the title of the episode, and soon the boys were hooked at the women on the screen, screaming at each other.
While the boys were starting homework, they were discussing what they needed to do. What I was listening to included numbers, big words, and equations that Einstein MIGHT be able to figure out. My mind was blown, I was getting nervous, and I was starting to sweat. They were stressing me out and I wasn't even doing their homework.
Sometimes, I take for granted that my major allows for creativity and exploration of things that interest me. I complain about this type of homework, because it comes in large amounts. But there are other people out there that have it a lot harder than I do.
All I wanted to do was enjoy my smoothie, but I had to listen to these boys discuss irrelevant topics. BORING!
Since they made me sit through their homework session, they agreed to take me to the mall. Shopping time! But with boys? Uh,Oh! They were thrilled that I wanted to go to Victoria's Secret, though!
While driving to the mall, Taylor, my human GPS, was having a difficult time telling me what exit I was going to take. He was mixing up numbers, flipping the exit name, causing me to be driving like a crazy woman!
When getting to the mall, the boys were immediately interested in going into every male clothing store. What? The mall was supposed to be the girls playground! Out of the 3 hours that we were in the mall, we spent 2 1/2 hours shopping for them, and 1/2 an hour shopping for me...THE GIRL! And going to the mall was my idea! HUMPH.
This is not something that I am used to. The last time I took boys to the mall, they were bored within 10 minutes of us being in our first store. What if all boys were like this? They may have less money to spend on their girlfriends, and their closets would be as full as mine!
Our last stop at the mall was of course, GameStop. The store's walls are lined with shelves of various video games for different consoles. However, the games aren't even in the boxes! So essentially, we were looking at empty boxes for about an hour before they made their purchases.
When we got back to the house, it was freezing! One of Mike's roommates was complaining about the temperature, and of course the others start making fun of him for it. This was the quote that resulted in this episode.
The TV was immediately turned on so the eight billion college basketball games wouldn't be missed. After watching the highlights of the game that had just finished, the boys started to reenact plays from their intraumural games the previous week. They were playing both offense and defense. Basketball happens to be my sport, so I was giving them hypothetical tips and pointers. First step to being a coach!
Although this sounds so unbelievably wrong, it's not what you think! One of Mike's roommates had just gone and purchased the new iPad Air. He was comparing it the the iPad of another roommate. This is the quote that was produced from that interaction...
Disclaimer: there is no censoring boys... Especially boys who take the same classes, and live in the same house. Although this was inappropriate, we were discussing the appearance of the lips of a commercial actress.
I have never met a group of boys that are so touchy-feely. They are constantly wrestling and fooling around with each other. Each of them think they are stronger than the others, so it's so funny to watch them attack each other. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt...or something breaks, which is usually the case. Last year they punched a hole in the wall. Oops.
If these boys were not as touchy-feely as they are, I would not feel comfortable visiting the house and staying for the weekend. I feel like they are family, but if they weren't like this, I would feel like the outsider.

Lamar is always listening to rap and R&B, so to hear him singing something from someone like Gavin DeGraw really caught my off guard. But I had to join in! It was a great bonding moment for Lamar and I, and I don't think I have ever laughed so hard with him!
That was another thing! I never knew that Lamar could sing, but man can he belt out those notes!
I was never a "How I Met Your Mother" fan until this summer, when I started watching it from the beginning. It's hard to watch it during the semester, but I have managed to get up to the middle of season 6! Not bad for starting over the summer. Everyone else has been watching it religiously from the beginning, so I was left out of some conversations, but just hearing the characters names made me so excited! I can't wait to have some free time so I can continue to watch it and catch up!
Another wonderful moment of singing by Lamar. This time, there was music behind him, but this was the best lyric that I heard him belt out. He is such a diva, and hence, a material girl!
This was another reference to the new iPad. Taylor said that the screen is large, but the actual iPad is so small since it's the new version and it's the AIR.
Lamar figured out that if he pulled one of his beard hairs straight, he could reach his mouth. When he demonstrated for us, we were all on the ground, rolling around and laughing. It was one of the strangest sights that I have ever seen, but it was hilarious.
Big Mike was sitting by the window while we were playing a game. And suddenly... he opened the blinds and was staring out the window, talking about how he feels like a dog sometimes.
Multitasking moment while listening to Billy Joel.
Who even knows what this was about. I believe this was said during a time of silence. Random, but equally as funny.
It was some variation of lyrics of the rapper/musical artist Ludicrous.
Taylor...oh Taylor. Sometimes I think he believes that he is invincible. This handstand resulted into him falling onto the table, which he said didn't hurt, but I don't see how it couldn't have! Anyway, he always adds to the comedy of the group, and I am glad that he lives with Mike.
These were probably the best things that I have ever had in my entire life. While they were a pain in the butt to make, it was so so so worth it! They tasted exactly like they sound. Cookie dough + snickers=AMAZING!
Writing, Research, and Technology is such a unique and different class, that everyone was so interested in what it was about! After explaining, they were even more interested in helping me out with my projects, even though they were helping by just being themselves. It was a lot of fun to talk to someone about the class, and Schuyler said he wanted to take it!
I have never really had anyone ask about my classes except for my family. None of my friends seem interested, especially since they all have their own classes to be worried about. It was a lot of fun to be the center of attention and to talk about my own classes for once. If all of my friends asked me about my classes though, I would probably be hesitant to talk about them.

After being unsuccessful in our attempt to find purple sweatbands, I promised that boys that I would dye white ones for them. PSA: polyester does not dye. These headbands appear purple, but when you ring them out, they do not retain any of the color. Solution? Spray paint..
Mike's roommates think that I am a genius. I am always baking for them, and I always have good ideas for them. However, this was the first time that I have shown them that I am not flawless. I think they were concerned, and a little confused that my initial idea didn't work. I was kinda embarrassed, but it all worked out for the best! What if it had worked? I would have continued to be perfect in their eyes. That's a big expectation to live up too!
I am not too sure why this made Lamar so happy, but it did. I think he was just fishing for me to write tweets about him! (:
A very short recap of a great weekend. I loved every minute of my weekend, and having to tweet about it just put icing on the cake! It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed rereading these tweets to remember the funny moments of a great weekend.
